VIP Luncheon Amsterdam Creative City a success!Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and amsterdam inbusiness teamed up on Wednesday 10 February to host an exclusive VIP Luncheon. Housed in the Dutch Cultural Pop-Up Space the artwork of several Dutch marketing and advertising agencies was on view in the exhibition 'Chips with everything’. Independent curator Ken Pratt was on site and keen to show how the work of the three Dutch studios concerned, Baked Beans, Circus Family and Minivegas, can span both commercial and more 'art'-based projects, blurring the boundaries between the two. The curator explains: “Skateboarding or the worlds of Japanese anime may mingle with multimedia design seriously informed by mid-twentieth century Dutch Modernism.” With a focus on Creative Amsterdam the NFIA and amsterdam inbusiness elaborated on the opportunities the Netherlands and Amsterdam have to offer the UK creative industry. Mr. Ron Boyle, Senior Area Manager amsterdam inbusiness spoke of the open and international Dutch business environment. Ron further explained how Amsterdam is home to a substantial cluster of hardware, software, consulting, system integration & web design companies forming the Dutch Media Hub. Ron also touched base on the opportunities deriving from the Amsterdam Internet Exchange being the largest Internet Exchange worldwide. Mr. Warren Hamilton, Creative Director Wave Recording Studios recently established Wave Amsterdam. Warren lively shared his experiences with the investment decision making process as well as several valuable best practices.
